Mongolia is a landlocked country located on mountains and plateaus, with an average elevation of 1,580 meters (5,180 feet). It can be divided into five geographical regions and each of these regions has distinctive natural formations. Also Mongolia has three major mountain ranges.
Western Region is familiar with high mountains and the Great Lakes Depression. The highest, the Altai Mountains stretches across the western and the southwestern regions of the country. Mongolians officially celebrate the public holidays such as New Year festival, Tsagaan sar (Lunar New year), Naadam, Mongolian Independence Day, Great Genghis Khan's birthday in addition to the international celebration or holidays same as in other countries.
